چکیده
In this research effort, we explore the use of a donor material to help heat workpieces without wearing tool or adding more than necessary system. The would typically be small piece (or pieces) material, presumably lower strength workpiece but with comparable melting point. donor, sandwich is positioned between head and welded, where initially plunges heats up in same manner as parent that intended for welding. subsequent penetration due friction result beneath it. This preheating technique softens harder which helps minimize wear produce better weld performance. goal investigate minimizes tear on negatively impacting structural properties weld. To demonstrate concept, combination Cu-Al, Cu-1045 Carbon steel (CS), Al-1045 CS sets materials were used simulation, addition control samples Al-Al CS-CS. We simulated two thicknesses 25 50% thickness, respectively. simulation suggests concept generates phenomenal results by reducing temperature axial forces stir welding aluminum AA6061 carbon 1045. It also assists downstream during welding, resulting from frictional mechanical work converted into stored heat.

Analysis and Comparison of Friction Stir Welding and Laser Assisted Friction Stir Welding of Aluminum Alloy
Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a solid-state joining process; i.e., no melting occurs. The welding process is promoted by the rotation and translation of an axis-symmetric non-consumable tool along the weld centerline. Thus, the FSW process is performed at much lower temperatures than conventional fusion welding, nevertheless it has some disadvantages. Laser Assisted Friction Stir Welding (LAFS...
متن کاملLiquation Cracking of Dissimilar Aluminum Alloys during Friction Stir Welding
A liquation cracking mechanism of dissimilar Al alloys during the friction stir welding (FSW) is suggested in this study. To identify the mechanism, the precipitates were analyzed and Al-Mg-Cu phase diagrams were calculated. Electron backscattering diffraction (EBSD) analysis and electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) were also conducted. In the same manner as constitutional liquation, at high hea...
متن کاملFriction Stir Welding of Aluminum Alloys: A Review
Friction stir welding is a solid state joining process. High strength aluminum alloys are widely used in aircraft and marine industries. Generally, the mechanical properties of fusion welded aluminum joints are poor. As friction stir welding occurs in solid state, no solidification structures are created thereby eliminating the brittle and eutectic phases common in fusion welding of high streng...

Coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian (CEL) Modeling of Material Flow in Dissimilar Friction Stir Welding of Aluminum Alloys
In this work, the finite element simulation of dissimilar friction stir welding process is investigated. The welded materials are AA 6061-T6 and AA 7075-T6 aluminum alloys. For this purpose, a 3D coupled thermo-mechanical finite element model is developed according to the Coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian (CEL) method. The CEL method has the advantages of both Lagrangian and Eulerian approaches, whic...
